Natural vs. Lab Created

Lab created emeralds are differed in colour than natural emeralds and contain no inclusions. Some people consider this as preferable because these inclusions can be seen as flaws. However, lab created emeralds are basically identical to the natural emeralds in their chemical composition and in appearance. Lab created emeralds lack the details of saturation and expected colour of natural emeralds. Although Lab created emeralds are real emeralds but these emeralds are not considered as authentic emeralds because they do not occur in nature.

Usually, emeralds created in a lab are less expensive than natural emeralds having similar colour. The difference in price can be matched by a difference in appearance but if affects quality. An emerald gemstone of similar quality on the AAA-B scale may be less valuable due to its slightly off-colour or inferior appearance. One can detect this irregularity with the naked eye, and may notice that a lab created emerald does not look quite right.
