This is one of the most auspicious day and India gets decked up to enjoy this very own festival. Janmashtami has been recognized to celebrate the holy birth of Lord Krishna. Krishnajanmashtami is also known and celebrated as Krishna Jayanti all over in India. The procedure of Puja

Before the day of Krishnajanmashtami, the household must be cleaned and decorated with flowers and other decoration materials. On the particular day of the ceremony, you have to wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath. Then the puja altar is set up, try to set up the puja altar in your puja room only which is the most holy place in the house, if you are planning for something elaborate, you can organize in a bigger room also. Sri Krishna idol is the centre attraction of the puja so you need to keep at least a photo of the idol. You can plan for a holy bath for the idol and decked him up with flowers and jewellery, don’t forget to complete the look with a garland. Ghee lamps and dairy products must offer chandan, kumkum and scent.

The holy prasad

You can offer home made prasad, there is not so much fuss over puja prasad when it comes to offering to Lord Krishna, simple and elegant prasad can be offered to him. You can offer handmade prasads, but don’t forget to use the dairy products. Raw fruits are suitable. If you are making handmade prasads, do utilize curd/yogurt, milk, ghee, butter and other milk-based products especially suitable for Lord Krishna. Start your puja by singing songs of Kanha or chant some shlokas and mantras related to Krishna. Wave and camphor and conclude the puja.
