How to clean your precious gemstone jewelry

Cleaning the most of precious stones requires soft detergent, warm water, and a soft brush. The safest way to clean the gemstones is to soak them in warm, soapy water and softly clean them with a soft brush. Then dry them with a soft cloth or let them air dry , do not put them under strong or direct sunlight. Always use a mild soap when needed and do not use strong cleaners, like bleach or ammonia.

Jewelry cleaning at Home: For cleaning gemstone jewelry at home the cleaning solution that is used is the mixture of dish detergent liquid in warm water i.e not very hot. Let that jewelry sit in the solution for a few minutes, longer if it is very dirty, then softly brush with a soft toothbrush. Then to rinse, put the jewelry in bowl of lukewarm water.

Cleaning of Jewelry using a silver polishing cloth: You can proceed with a modest silver polishing cloth to clean a gentle and smooth gemstone jewelry by rubbing it gently in to and fro motion to rid dust or ugly stains. Try not to use polishing cloth on the stones.

Cleaning with Vinegar:  It is not easy to clean gemstone jewelry with white vinegar. But we can simply drop the jewelry into a container of vinegar and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then take it out and brush with a soft brush, if required.

Cleaning With Baking Soda and Hydrogen peroxide: As we know baking soda and hydrogen peroxide is a super cleaner for many of household stuff, and when it comes to cleaning metals like gold, silver and costume jewelry it is also a safe and effective cleaner. To have best results, you can take mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, then brush the mixture gently on your jewelry and then wash them with warm water and clean with gentle cloth.
