BLUE SAPHHIRE – THE CELEBRITY’S CHOICE

It is believed that blue sapphires have certain mystic powers, these lovely stones can free their owners from any type of spiritual misunderstanding, mental stress, depression, and unpleasant thoughts and are good to maintain mental balance, along with that they also help to restore equilibrium inside the body.

The hue of the blue sapphire depends upon the amount of iron and titanium present during the stone's creation. A deepened hue can be noticed if there is more iron and titanium present. The color of sapphire can be anything from royal blue to light blue to what is known as Kashmir blue. If substances like chromium are present during the sapphire's creation, the color may change, taking on an orange or red tint.

In 1804, before the big day of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria, the king had gifted a beautiful present, a sapphire and a diamond brooch set to her wife. She described that in her diary as “ a lovely gift, a huge sapphire set round with diamonds, which is quite stunning. She had worn that new broch as her "something blue" on her gown encircled by twelve round diamonds and set in gold with her diamond-studded jewelry on her wedding day.

Although Queen Victoria has numerous priceless gems in her collection, she kept the splendid brooch close to her heart until Albert's death and she guaranteed that the brooch would always belong to the reigning queen.

This broch inspired Prince Charles to make a blue sapphire as an engagement ring for Princess Diana. Princess Anne wore sapphire in both of her engagement rings, and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the mother of Queen Elizabeth, received one from the Duke of York (the future King George VI) during their 1923 engagement. Then price Williams decided to propose to her beautiful wife with that iconic ring in 2010.

This blue sapphire is becoming famous as an engagement ring, people want to make a statement with something different from a typical diamond ring. What could be a better choice to replace a diamond ring with a blue sapphire one?

A well-known spanish actress Penelope Cruz was noticed wearing a blue sapphire in her ring figure, it must be her engagement ring.

Also, it has been noticed at the 2020 Emmy Awards that Reese Witherspoon wore a blue sapphire. She wore Louis Vuitton from head to toe, including the brand's blue sapphire earrings, which had two oval-cut sapphires and 16 tapering diamonds set in 18-karat white gold.
